Taking a stroll through Görlitzer Park

Located just south of Görlitzer Bahnhof, Görlitzer Park is a green oasis in the midst of the grungy and rough borough of Kreuzberg. On summer days many berliners come here to grab a beer, kick back and chill out. In the fall, the yellow, orange, and red colors of the trees paint a pretty scenery for a walk in the sunshine.

A club scene like nowhere else

It has been a known fact for a while that Berlin has a one-of-a-kind club and techno scene that attracts party tourists from all over the world. Since the first clubs started to emerge after the fall of the Berlin wall in the late 1980s, Berlin has grown to become the place to go for a unique nightlife experience.

The following short documentary produced by Resident Advisor presents a brief history of the Berlin techno-scene as described by some the pioneers that have created a club scene like nowhere else.

Blog is up - Herzlich Willkommen!

Here it is - the gratuitous first blog post. For everyone reading this - welcome. Let me begin by introducing myself.


My name is David, I am a Danish-German 20-something recent business school graduate. After a few months of pursuing a career in Copenhagen, Denmark I decided to relocate to Berlin. I love the city and have wanted to come here to live and work for a few years. So here I am, smack in the middle of Kreuzberg and now officially one of the 12.7% of unemployed in Berlin. Hopefully that will change soon though. 


In this blog I will write about my experiences in Berlin and with Berliners. I will be exploring the landmarks, the many cafés and restaurants, and the overlooked spots around the city waiting to be found. I have set a goal to post at a few times a week in order to keep the blog updated with fresh content. 


So here it is, the first post. The first of many more to come in what will hopefully become an interesting guide to exploring Berlin.
